We checked out a great little place by Johns Hopkins above Charles Village called Chocolatea. We were pleasantly surprised to find a nice shop with gourmet chocolates and a wonderful array of teas and coffee's.
Atmosphere:
A small cozy environment with a friendly and helpful staff. There is fun, eclectic furniture and comfy banquets. You can't help being seduced by all the truffles and treats on display. And it even has a great section devoted to tea lovers where you can buy teapots, loose tea and gifts. I will absolutely be heading back when I need a gift for my mom!
The Coffee & Tea:
They have an extensive menu of teas, coffee & coco-lattes (100% real chocolate melted then infused with milk. Afterwards fresh fruits or spice is added to create the perfect cup of hot chocolate). Check out the menu for more details. There are options for everyone and it it hard to make a decision!
Best time to go:
It was definitely loud when we were in there for a busy lunch rush, but it got a bit more peaceful in the late afternoon. They do not allow meetings on the weekends (too small for hanging out all day on a Saturday) but during the week they were very welcoming. We would suggest this as a good place for 1 - 3 people early in the week.
Wifi: Yes
Strong signal and easy to access. Outlets are scarce - so if you are like me and have been putting off replacing your laptop battery - make sure you get a table with one nearby before you sit.
What we stayed for:
Lunch was a big bowl of miso soup and edamame followed by a lovely three cheese panini with basil. Collectively we had a cappuccino, tea and the Mayan coco-latte with chipotle pepper & cinnamon (amazing). All delicious and under $10.
