Atmosphere:
Brand spankin' new! It doesn't have the funky lived in feel of the Daily Grind in Fells Point but it's a much needed addition to Canton Square. Clean and as of yet undiscovered by the masses of free wifi surfers you can easily spend the whole day either on the couch or at one of the tables.

Limited options - pre-made salads and a few gourmet sandwiches. Food is good considering the small selection. The turkey, brie & apple is quite yummy!

You ought to check out the Daily Grind in Canton now! It's gone thru a transformation and is now known as "The Firehouse Grind." It's totally cozy and has shabby chic decor, couches, and an authentic firehouse theme including a fireman sliding down a fire pole. They've added gourmet desserts - Junior's Cheesecake from NY; Dangerously Delicious Pies, and Moxley's Ice Cream. It has great ambiance and gourmet homemade sandwiches, salad, smoothies, and more. They even added an 11' movie screen with surround sound and show music videos. www.firehousegrind.com
n going to the fells point grind for years and I just don't see how anyone would prefer the one in Canton. Yeah, there’s some cool stuff but it's all shiny and new now, but give it a few years. Fells point is just so much better. I don't know how, but their coffee and drinks just taste better. Plus, it's bigger and more comfortable. I just don't get the whole fascination with this new grind.
I also don't see what the fuss is about this daily grind location. I gave it a chance because it is quieter for studying than the Fells Point one, but the food and coffee just doesn't measure up. I had a really overpriced piece of cake that ended up being too stale to eat and the guy working behind the counter wasn't very friendly about it when I complained. Plus the place was filled with a bunch of irritating yuppies who act like Canton is in the suburbs instead of Baltimore...I'm sticking to Fells!
This place is hit or miss...I've gone in and had wonderful food, drinks & service, but I've also had to wait forever for sub par stuff. It's right by my work, so I still go. I've heard from several people that the owner doesn't treat the staff very well and I know my favorite waitress got fired. The place hasn't been the same since.
This place used to be good but now it is horrible. All the good staff is gone. On Friday morning I went in and saw the barista sneeze right into his hands, then wipe his nose with his hand and he ran that same hand under the water (no soap) for maybe MAYBE 2 seconds. It's disgusting. The woman working behind the counter called it a "skin latte??!?!" not realizing that what i asked for was a skim latte.
